FOUNTAIN -- The funeral for Marjory L. House will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston, with the Rev. Mark Rader of Fountain United Methodist Church officiating. The body was cremated. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston.
Mrs. House, 85, of Fountain, formerly of Preston, died Wednesday morning (Oct. 13, 2004) at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul following a long illness.
Marjory Liversage was born June 11, 1919, in Kintyre, N.D., and moved to Brainerd, Minn., with her family as a young girl. On Sept. 20, 1952, she married Lyle F. House in Austin. They lived in Preston until moving to Fountain in December 1964. She graduated from a Minneapolis beauty school in 1947 and operated a beauty shop in her homes in Preston and Fountain. She became a resident of Preston Good Samaritan Care Center in October 2003. Mrs. House was a member of the Fountain American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, dancing, camping and music.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Roger (Inge) Burgess of Carlisle, Mass., Darryl Burgess of Waterloo, Iowa, Jack (Starr) House of Kissimmee, Fla., and Robert House of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; three daughters, Diane Grieve of Rochester, Beverly (Mike) Simmons of Rochester and Tamara House of Viola; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
