Mark and Cynthia Linbo -- Hayfield

HAYFIELD -- A combined funeral service for Mark Eugene Linbo, 56, and his wife, Cynthia Louise "Cindy" Linbo, 53, of New Ulm, Minn., will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will be in New Ulm City Cemetery with full military honors for Mr. Linbo by New Ulm veteran's organizations. They died Sunday (July 13, 2003) as the result of an auto accident near Nicollet, Minn.

Mr. Linbo was born June 23, 1947, in Rochester, graduated from Hayfield High School and attended Rochester Community College. In November 1967, he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and Izaak Walton League.

Cynthia Louise Walor was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Salem, Mass., graduated from Danvers, Mass., High School in 1967, and after attending Lawrence General Nursing School in Lawrence, Mass., was a nurses' aide at Hunt Memorial Hospital in Lawrence. She enjoyed crafts and sewing.

They were married Jan. 5, 1969, in Danvers and, after his discharge from the Army, moved to Owatonna, where he began a career with AMPI and she worked at Owatonna City Hospital. In 1978, the family moved to New Ulm, where he continued to work for AMPI and coached youth sports. Mrs. Linbo was employed by Kraft Foods part time for seven years and full time for 17 years. The couple enjoyed camping and fishing and were members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, where she served on the board of education for several years.

They are survived by three sons, Scott (Elizabeth) of Willmar, Minn., Brett (Caliann) of Round Lake, Ill., and Craig (Kari) of The Woodlands, Texas; a daughter, Melissa Linbo of Chicago; and 17 grandchildren. Mrs. Linbo is also survived by her mother, Nancy Walor of Danvers; two brothers, Steven (JoAnne) Walor of Peabody, Mass., and Robert Walor of Danvers; and a sister, Patricia (Joseph) DeAlmeida of Danvers. Her father preceded her in death. Mr. Linbo is also survived by his mother, LaVaine Linbo of Hayfield; two brothers, Danny (Diane) Linbo of Sargeant and Kevin (Georgena) Linbo of Hayfield; and a sister, Rosie (Bruce) Mortenson of Minnetonka. Minn. He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm and one hour before the service Thursday at the church. There will be a memorial service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
