Martin D. Roessler -- Rochester

ROCHESTER --A memorial service for Martin D. Roessler, 88, of Rochester, will be at 10 a.m. June 18 in Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Duane M. Gebhart officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

Mr. Roessler died Thursday (May 26, 2005) in Sunrise Cottages in Rochester. He was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Rochester. He married Loretta Palmer on June 14, 1936, in Rochester. She died May 25, 2004. He lived in Rochester most of his life, except when wintering in Mission, Texas. The couple enjoyed their cabin in Wisconsin. He was a trustee for Homestead church in Rochester, was a member of the church choir and sang in other music groups. He worked for Mayo Clinic as a medical sculptor and prosthesis technician. He enjoyed gardening, flowers and music, and played the tuba for the Jolly Norseman and the Rochester Symphony Band.

Surviving are three daughters, Marlene (Maynard) Week of Pottsboro, Texas, Mary Jo (Glenn) Haase (Tanaka) of Rochester and Lora ( Larry) Wardrip of Nelson, Minn.; two sons, Larry (Jo Ann) of Naperville, Ill., and Ronald (Phyllis) of Eyota; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carlton and Lewis (Delores), both of Rochester. He also was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
