The feel-good television moment of the weekend was watching Japanese-born Shigeki Maruyama as he won the Byron Nelson Classic. The grin on his face spoke volumes, and he apparently enjoyed himself all day.

; Those not-so-amazing Twins are still in first place, even after a humbling weekend visit by the New York Yankees. Where is this pitching we were expecting from the Twins? Home runs were flying out of the Metrodome as fast as Rick Reed could dish them up. That was kind of scary to watch. But hey, we still have a one-game lead in the Central Division, which right now seems to be a very good division in which to play. …
