LAKE CITY — A memorial service for Marvel Dohrn will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City.
Marvel Dohrn, 67, formerly of Lake City, died Thursday (Nov. 6, 2008) at Scottsdale Health Care in Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was born on July 11, 1941, in rural Oak Center. She grew up in the Oak Center-Lake City area and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959.
She was a resident of San Francisco for 35 years. She held various positions in the banking field, advancing to manager and vice president. She later moved to Reno, Nev., then Scottsdale in 2004.
She is survived by four sisters, Luella Eggenberger and Esther (Louis) Prigge, both of Lake City, LaVerna Dohrn and Jane Thompson, both of Scottsdale; four brothers, Donald (Marion) of Plainview, Rollie (Pat) of St. Paul Park, Minn., Vernon (Tina) and Richard (Bonnie), both of Lake City; a brother-in-law, Donald Ebling of Rochester; and 29 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna (Dankers) and Emil Dohrn; and a sister, Lorraine Ebling.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Her ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Francisco at a later date.
