Marvin V. Schlosnagle -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Marvin V. Schlosnagle will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Kroonblawd officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Schlosnagle, 83, of 925 15th St. S.E., a former store manager, died Monday (Sept. 8, 2003) at Maple Manor Nursing Home.

Born Dec. 8, 1919, in Accident, Md., he grew up there and graduated from Accident High School. He worked for the Maryland State Highway Patrol and from 1942 to 1945, served in the Army. On July 17, 1945, he married Margaret L. Radke in Rochester. They had lived in Rochester since 1947. Mr. Schlosnagle managed Rochester Orthopedic and Appliances in the Kahler Arcade until his retirement in 1984. His wife is a retired Rochester Methodist Hospital employee. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 92 and was an usher and member of the Men's Club at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David (Sara) of Roswell, Ga., and Don (Janet) of Rochester; two granddaughters; five sisters, Mabel Graves of Coudersport, Pa., Gladys (Roy) Broadwater of Louisville, Ky., Eleanor Grove of Waynesboro, Pa., Marjorie (Earl) Higley of Morris, Pa., and Dorothy (Harry) Moon of Watkinsville, Ga.; and three brothers, Eugene (Ethel) of Carlisle, Pa., and John and Glenn (Donna), both of Accident. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Macken Funeral Home and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
