Mary Geraldine 'Jerry' Poppenberg -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- Mary Geraldine "Jerry" Poppenberg, 76, of Rochester, died Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at St. Elizabeth's Healthcare Center in Wabasha.

Mary Geraldine Poppenberg was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Bemidji, Minn., and graduated from St. Philips' School and Bemidji High School. She worked for JCPenney Co. in Bemidji for many years before moving to Chicago, where she worked for Eastern Airlines and Merrill Lynch, operated a gift store and worked as a private secretary. In 1994, she moved to Rochester. She enjoyed traveling and dogs.

Survivors include a sister, Angela (Tom) Conway of Bemidji; and a brother, John (Donna) Poppenberg of Bemidji. She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

Her body was donated to Mayo Foundation. There will be no service at this time.

Memorials are preferred to the Sisters of St. Benedict, Mount St. Benedict, Crookston, MN 56716-2799.
