Mary Maxine Kinney -- Austin

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Mary Maxine Kinney will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Patricia M. Toschak officiating. Interment will be at noon Friday in Northland Memorial Park Cemetery in Rhinelander, Wis.

Mrs. Kinney, 91, of Minnetonka, Minn., formerly of Austin, died Saturday at Presbyterian Homes of Lake Minnetonka, where she had lived six months.

Mary Maxine Putt was born July 27, 1913, in Iowa. A graduate of the Kahler Nursing School in Rochester, she practiced nursing in her early years and continued to be a nurse and caregiver throughout her life. For 27 years, she and her husband, Gaylord G. Kinney, owned Kinney Photo Studio in Rhinelander, Wis., and she was the portrait artist for much of that time. They retired to Rio Rico, Nogales, Ariz., where she continued to live until moving to Austin. Mrs. Kinney was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Austin. She was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Rhinelander Country Club.

Survivors include two sons, John G. (Carol) and James L.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and a brother.

Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church. There will be no reviewal.
