Post-Bulletin staff

A man wearing a blue bandanna over his face robbed a Rochester convenience store at knifepoint early today.

A 20-year-old clerk said he was behind the counter at the SuperAmerica at 919 37th St. N.W. at 2:11 a.m. when a man came in, approached the counter, showed a knife and demanded money and cigarettes.

Winters said the clerk gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money and several packs of cigarettes. The man then fled on foot. A blue bandanna was found outside the store.

The clerk described the man as black, in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the words Big Dog on the front. The bandanna was pulled over a portion of his face.
