MABEL -- A memorial service for Mavis A. Larson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel, with the Rev. Stephen Fiksdal officiating. Burial will be in Mabel Public Cemetery.
Mrs. Larson, 63, of Mabel, died Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.
Mavis Lien was born July 11, 1941, in Spring Grove. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, graduated from Spring Grove High School and married Henry E. Larson on Feb. 20, 1960, in Dorchester, Iowa. He died in 1990. She enjoyed car rides and garage sales.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Wayne) Harton of Peoria, Ariz., and Renae Larson of Mabel; two grandchildren; two brothers, Alden of Mabel and Harland of Caledonia; a sister, Ione Myhre of Mabel; and her companion, Junnell Erickson of Mabel. She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.
