The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program has announced that Mayo Clinic Rochester’s Methodist Hospital and Saint Marys Hospital have "achieved exemplary outcomes for surgical patient care."
No other hospital in Minnesota received the recognition, the clinic said in a statement.
Twenty-six hospitals nationwide achieved exemplary outcomes.
The college requires member hospitals to track inpatient and outpatient surgical-procedure data, the statement noted.
