Mayo/Lourdes gets shutout

Rochester Mayo/Lourdes made it look easy Saturday as it roared to an 8-0 Big Nine Conference girls hockey win over Owatonna at Graham Arena.

Mayo/-Lourdes, now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the league, got two goals from Amy Fordham and three assists from MaryClare McGregor. Also chipping in goals were Gretchen Leyendecker, Kristin Anderson, Katie Buskie, Brittany Erickson and Nicole Anderson.

M/L outshot Owatonna 32-9. Kayla Weise was in goal for the first 21⁄2; periods, then gave way to Sinead Murphy.

"We had 10 people who scored points, so everyone is contributing," Mayo/Lourdes coach John Gamble said.

Mayo/Lourdes plays John Marshall/Century Tuesday.
