Mayo ranks No. 2 among health organizations

Mayo Clinic ranked second in the nation among 203 top U.S. health organizations with hospitals in the 14th annual list in this week's U.S. News and World Report.

Mayo received a total of 28 points in its 14 top specialty areas, surpassed only by Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, which had 32 points in 16 specialty areas.

Mayo ranked No. 1 in the country in the following specialty areas: digestive disorders, orthopedics, hormonal disorders, rheumatology, neurology and neurosurgery.

Mayo ranked second for gynecology and respiratory disorders and third for kidney disease and urology.
