P-E-M, K-W are top seeds in 1AA, 1A

The pairings for this week’s Section One wrestling dual tournaments have been released, and two Rochester teams will go head-to-head in the opening round.
Rochester Mayo received the highest seed of the three Rochester schools in the Section 1AAA tournament.
The third-seeded Spartans (17-10) will host No. 6 seed Century (7-20) at 7 p.m. Thursday. The winner moves on to Saturday’s section semifinals and a likely matchup with powerhouse Owatonna, the No. 2 seed.

Rochester John Marshall will also play host to a first-round dual. The No. 4-seeded Rockets (14-15) will face Northfield at 7 p.m. Thursday. The winner of that dual will likely face top-seeded Albert Lea (25-7) in the semifinals.
Plainview-Elgin-Millville (33-5) earned the No. 1 seed in the Section 1AA tournament and will host either No. 8 seed Lake City or No. 9 Cannon Falls in a quarterfinal match at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Kenyon-Wanamingo is the top seed in the Section 1A tournament. The Knights (19-5) will host eighth-seeded Pine Island or No. 9 seed Triton at 7 p.m. Thursday.
