From staff reports

A memorial service was scheduled for today in Dahlonega, Ga., for Crystal Lee Tuggle, 20, of Albuquerque, N.M., and formerly of Rochester.

She and her father, James Chatman, 46, of Albuquerque, disappeared June 20 while hiking in mountains in New Mexico. Both remain missing.

Tuggle attended Rochester Pentecostal Church and was educated at the church's school before moving to Albuquerque in 1990.

Chatman and Tuggle told relatives they were going to Spirit Cave near Mount Taylor for a day hike. Rebecca Tuggle, Chatman's wife and Crystal's mother, reported them missing. A search began June 21 after a park ranger found their vehicle at El Malpais near an area known as "The Big Tubes."

Search efforts were suspended a week later.

Chatman is a former IBM employee in Rochester. Crystal Tuggle's grandparents, John Tuggle and Anne Madison and Marilyn Tuggle Pitney and Mahl Pitney, are former Rochester residents.

Law enforcement representatives say there's no evidence of foul play.

The search involved about 150 search and rescue members, 40 National Park Service employees, four dog teams, five cave specialists, the Air National Guard and the Civil Air Patrol.
