Michael Lafferty -- Chanhassen, Minn.

LAKE CITY -- The funeral for Michael Lafferty will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City, with the Rev. James Russell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Lafferty, 54, of Chanhassen, Minn., formerly of Lake City, died Thursday (Sept. 18, 2003) at Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minn., after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 9, 1949. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967 and then from St. Paul Vocational Technical Institute in food and restaurant management. He also attended and graduated from Normandale Community College. He was a chef working at several Twin Cities restaurants and, most recently, at Viking Service specializing in catering. He enjoyed golfing, swimming, sports and following the Vikings.

Survivors include four brothers, Donald J. of Frontenac, Larry of Richfield, Daniel (Deb) of Rochester and Raymond (Kathy) of Lake City; and three sisters, Maxine (Vernon) Frazier of Las Vegas, Rose Mary (Neil) Boerboom of Hopkins, Minn., and Kathleen Lafferty of Minneapolis.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Regional Medical Center, 1455 St. Francis Ave. Shakopee, Minn.
