Michelle Ranae 'Sis' Rust -- St. Ansgar, Iowa

ST. ANSGAR, Iowa -- The funeral for Michelle Ranae "Sis" Rust will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Burial will be in Sawyer Cemetery in La Porte City, Iowa.

Mrs. Rust, 33, of St. Ansgar, a Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003) at her home following a sudden illness.

She was born Nov. 17, 1970, in Des Moines, Iowa, and after attending Waterloo schools began working in the meat packing industry. She worked for IBP in Waterloo and more recently for Hormel in Austin. She married Larry Rust and they were later divorced. She was a member of the Austin Baptist Church and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include three sons, Corey Kennis, Ryan Rust and Anthony Rust, all at home; her parents, Doug and Sharen Flodeen of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; two brothers, Mark (Tammy) Kennis of Edmond, Okla., and Bryan (Amy) Spooner of Waterloo; a sister, Tammy (David) Craton of New Auburn, Wis.; three stepbrothers, Randy Flodeen of Waterloo, Tim Flodeen of La Porte City and Scott Flodeen of Bowling Green, Ky.; three stepsisters, Patty Issa of Tulsa, Okla., Pam Flodeen of Denver and Sherry Dean of Rice Lake, Wis.; maternal grandparents, Carl and Jane Sutton of Waterloo; and paternal grandmother, Fannie Kennis of Grimes, Iowa. A daughter and a sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
