Miner G. Hegna -- Mabel
MABEL -- The funeral for Miner G. Hegna will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, with the Rev. Wade E. Davick officiating. Burial will be in Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Hegna, 92, of Mabel, a retired farm laborer, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, where he had resided since 1983.
Born Aug. 31, 1909, in Carrington, N.D., he moved to Fillmore County with his family as a small child and attended Maland School. He worked on farms in the Lanesboro, Whalen and Peterson areas. He was a member of the Elstad Lutheran Church and a former member of Highland Prairie Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence of Harmony. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
