Minnesota FFA\'ers excel at national convention

LOUISVILLE — Two Minnesota FFA teams placed second in the nation at the National FFA Convention.

Lanesboro's dairy cattle evaluation and management team and Windom's floriculture team placed second.

Members of the Lanesboro team are Haely Leiding, who placed fourth individually, Kayla Leiding, who placed ninth individually, and Jared and Travis Troendle.

Members of the Windom team are Spencer Wolter, Gabby Jensen and Abby and Natalie Resch. Wolter placed fourth in the nation individually and Abby Resch placed seventh.

The Mountain Lake FFA Farm Business Management team placed third. Team members are Caleb Rempel, Daniel Harder, Hamlet Tanyavong and Eric Niss. Harder placed sixth individually and Rempel placed eighth.

The Jackson County Central Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems Career Development Event team placed fourth. Team members are Jordon Ellefson, Nate Guggisberg, Kilen Warmka and Andrew Holmberg. Guggisberg placed fifth individually.

The Tri-City United Veterinary Science team placed fifth. Team members are Amber Balfe, Sara Fisher and Allie and Julie Trnka.

Shantal Pai and Connor Pedersen, Academy for Sciences and Agriculture, won their division in the Power, Structural and Technical Systems area of the National FFA Agriscience Fair.

Aaron Vipond of the Mahnomen FFA chapter was named the Grain Production-Placement proficiency winner.

Laura Williams of the Fulda FFA won the Vegetable Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement proficiency and Skyler Vold of the Red Rock Central FFA won the Specialty Animal Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement proficiency.
