SIDE LAKE, Minn. — The body of a 72-year-old Zimmerman, Minnesota, man was found Wednesday morning after he was reported missing over a week ago in Itasca County.

James Federick Napoli was located at 11 a.m. in a wooded area not far from his vehicle off Turtle Road near Side Lake, according to a news release from the Itasca County Sheriff's Office.

Earlier that day, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad spotted his vehicle and a ground search began that also involved the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Minnesota Border Patrol and Itasca County first responders.

Napoli was last seen around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at his cabin on Sturgeon Road in Side Lake, about 20 minutes north of Hibbing, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported. Family members reported that he was expected to return Aug. 29 to Zimmerman, north of Elk River in Sherburne County, but failed to show or make contact.

The cause of death is still under investigation, the news release said.
