15-year-old bicyclist killed near Mankato

EAGLE LAKE, Minn. — A 15-year-old boy riding his bicycle in southern Minnesota was struck and killed by an SUV on Saturday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says David Peterson of Rosemount was hit on County Road 27 just north of Eagle Lake, which is located east of Mankato. It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities are investigating the accident. They say Peterson was crossing the road when he was hit by the southbound SUV.
