The cause of a fire that burned a shed and unoccupied mobile home in Austin is still under investigation.

The fire occurred at 1 a.m. Sunday at 2107 21st St. S.E.

A witness who was driving by the area told authorities he noticed flames over the tops of trees.

According to Mark May, chief deputy at the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, the shed was fully engulfed in flames by the time a deputy arrived. The mobile home also was on fire. No one currently lives in the home, May said.

The Austin Fire Department extinguished the flames. May said the cause of the fire is not yet known. No damage estimate was available.
