A’s let 4-0 lead slip away
OWATONNA — Owatonna rallied from a four-run deficit to beat the Rochester A’s 6-4 in American Legion baseball on Tuesday.
The A’s scored four times in the top of the second inning to go up 4-0. But Owatonna (4-3) scored five times in the bottom of the inning, aided by a Rochester error, to take the lead.
"He probably deserved a better fate," A’s coach Keith Kangas said of losing pitcher Jared Samuelson. "We made it (the second inning) a five-out inning and it was enough to turn the tide."
Andrew Plevak and Matt Pearson were both 2-for-3 for the A’s. The A’s had a chance in the middle of the game, but left the bases loaded in the fifth inning.
"We just didn’t hit well with runners on base," Kangas said.
The A’s (7-4, 7-1 First District) will host Austin on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Mayo Field.
