More charges filed against chiropractor

OWATONNA, Minn. -- An Owatonna chiropractor has been charged with eight additional felony counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly molesting seven women he was treating as patients.

Dr. Lyle Coleman, 57, was charged in June with one count of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly molesting a female patient. Since then, additional women came forward alleging that Coleman had inappropriate contact with them during the past 25 years.

Coleman was arraigned Wednesday on the additional charges: six counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Prosecutors allege the offenses were committed as "part of a pattern of predatory sex offenses."

The women who brought the additional complaints ranged in age from 20 to 49.

One of the women, now 20 years old, alleges that Coleman touched her breasts and genital area during an office visit when she was a junior in high school. Another 20-year-old said Coleman began to touch her sexually when she was a teenager.

Coleman declined to comment to the Owatonna People's Press. A phone message left at a listing for him was not immediately returned to The Associated Press.
