Mosquito spraying funded by the city of Austin is expected to begin tonight.
The spraying is slated to begin at 8 p.m. today and to conclude at 8 a.m. Wednesday. If there’s bad weather, spraying will be rescheduled to start at 8 p.m. Wednesday and end at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Earlier this month, the Austin City Council approved paying $25,000 this summer on four potential sprays to control mosquitoes. Other tentative spraying dates are July 1, July 17 and Aug. 4.
Last year, the city only needed one of the four planned spraying applications because of dry weather.
