Motorcycle rider injured in Hwy. 60 collision Sunday

Motrocycle reportedly drifted into oncoming lane in Wabasha County

A 39-year-old Lonsdale woman was injured when her motorcycle collided with a car Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 60 near County Road 4 in Wabasha County.

Anne Inez Schmidt was westbound on Highway 60 at approximately 7 p.m. when her motorcycle reportedly drifted into the eastbound lane, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

The motorcycle collided with an eastbound Chevy Cruze driven by 25-year-old William Henry Zimmer of Ladysmith, Wis.

Mayo One Air was called to the scene, and Schmidt, who had not been wearing a helmet, was transported to St. Marys Hospital with what were reported as non-life-threatening injuries.

Zimmer, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not reported as injured.

The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office and Lake City Ambulance and Fire responded to the scene.
