GRAND MEADOW — A motorcyclist from rural Austin who crashed Saturday near Grand Meadow died of his injuries Monday.
William Ryan Koenigs, 29, of rural Austin, died at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, according to a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman.
Koenigs crashed about 12:45 p.m. Saturday in a ditch along Mower County Road 2 in Grand Meadow Township. He was unconscious and had a head injury when authorities arrived. A Mayo Clinic helicopter flew Koenigs to Saint Marys.

Koenigs’ twin brother, Charles, of McIntire, Iowa, told a deputy he was following his brother at 55 mph to 60 mph when William Koenigs lost control of his motorcycle.
A man working in a ditch across from the crash site saw the motorcycle enter the ditch and roll a couple of times.
A deputy found bird feathers stuck between the front left shock and fender of Koenigs’ motorcycle.
