Mower hires new sheriff’s deputy

Mower County hired a new sheriff’s deputy this week, bringing the department back to full strength at 21 sworn officers.

Guadalupe Reyes, who had worked in the county’s jail for the past two years, was sworn in Wednesday by Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi. He officially started Monday.
