RACINE -- The funeral for Nellie Ann Sween will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bear Creek Lutheran Church in Frankford Township, Mower County, with the Rev. Bernard Daiker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sween, 62, of rural Racine, a farm homemaker, died Monday (Feb. 25, 2002) at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a short illness with cancer.
Nellie Ann Grovdahl was born March 5, 1939, in rural Sargeant. She attended District 91 School, Hayfield High School and Evanger Lutheran Church. On March 5, 1960, she married Donald Sween at Evanger Lutheran Church and they farmed near Racine. She enjoyed music and visiting at Grand Meadow Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael of Racine; her parents, George and Erma (Stayner) Grovdahl of Sargeant; a brother, George Jr. (Doris) of Stewartville; and a sister, Janet (Don) Flatness of Glenville, Minn.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
