Niess new association president

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa -- Scott; Niess, an Osage dairy farmer, is the new president of the Iowa State Dairy Association.

He was elected to replace David Kunde by the group's board at the directions at the annual meeting Feb. 21 in Marshalltown.

Niess has served the past 6 years on the ISDA board of directors and secretary of the organization for the last three years.

Niess and his wife, Julie, along with their two children, milk 55 Holstein cows, as well as annually market 1,200 head of crossbred steers and farm 700 acres in a corn, soybeans, oat and hay rotation.

Niess also serves as a board member and officer for Foremost Farms and is secretary of the Iowa Dairy Products Association.


The Iowa State Dairy Association is a non-profit organization that is directed by Iowa dairy producers and dairy industries.
