Nominees sought for outstanding youths

The Olmsted County Youth Commission is now accepting nominations for the 15th annual Olmsted County Outstanding Youth Awards.

These awards are presented to 10 young people in the county who have gone above and beyond expectations to make a difference in the community by demonstrating personal growth, initiative and community impact.

Nominees must be between the ages of 12 and 20, and must reside or attend school in Olmsted County. Nominators may be youth or adults. The nomination deadline is March 13.

Nomination forms are available through the Youth Commission. Anyone wishing to make a nomination or with questions should contact Mary Gorfine at gorfine.mary@co.olmsted.mn.us, fax (507) 328-7967, or go to the Olmsted County Administration, 151 Fourth St. S.E. in Rochester.

Winners will be recognized during the April 28 meeting of the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners at the government center in Rochester. Each winner will be presented with an award, followed by a reception.
