DULUTH -- The eighth annual NorthShore Inline Marathon was held Sept. 13 with 3,636 finishers. The 26.2-mile course went from Two Harbors to Duluth, and is the same one as Grandma's Marathon, which is raced in June.
Juan Carlos Betancur of Medellin, Columbia was the men's winner in 1:04.31 while Julie Glass of Olympia, Wash., won the women's race in 1:19.28.
The first five finishers werre from Columbia (first and fifth), New Zealand, France and the United States. There were skaters from 20 countries plus 40 states.
Sixteen skaters from Rochester competed in all four divisions (pro, advanced, fitness and recreation). Last y ear 64 from Rochester participated.
Ellen Enzler and David Greymont were "first place" winners in their respective age groups in the recreation division.
