Randolph G. Strain — Austin

AUSTIN — Randolph G. Strain, 59, of Austin, died Tuesday (April 1, 2008) at his home, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Randolph Gerald Strain was born March 10, 1949, in Rochester. He served in the Army for two years before being discharged.

His greatest joy was riding his Harley trike, which he did as often as possible.

Survivors include a daughter, Christina (Darrell) Christianson of Onalaska, Wis.; three sons, Jeff Jansen of Chatfield, Randy Jr. of Thief River Falls, Minn., and Andy (Willa) of Asheville, N.C.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Fred (Julie) of Modesto, Calif., and Ronald (Sheryl) of Spring Valley; his significant other, Sharon McCormick of Austin; and lifelong friend and brother, D. Lentz of Blooming Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Melvin and Betty Jane Strain, and two brothers.

In accordance with Mr. Strain’s wishes, his body was cremated. A private burial will be in Sumner Cemetery, rural Chatfield, at a later date.

Mayer Funeral Home of Austin assisted the family with arrangements.
