Shirley J. Gabrielson — Austin
AUSTIN — The funeral for Shirley J. Gabrielson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Patricia Toschak officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin.
Mrs. Gabrielson, 80, of Austin, died Wednesday (Nov. 5, 2008) at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Blue Earth, Minn.
Shirley Jerelene Storry was born June 12, 1928, in Austin. After attending Whittier School and graduating from Austin High School in 1946, she worked as a bookkeeper. She married Ralph "Gordy" Gabrielson on June 11, 1950, at First United Methodist Church in Austin. A homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Gabrielson bowled in the church league for 25 years. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, and spending time with her friends. She became a resident of St. Luke’s in Blue Earth in 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Dale (Diane) of Sartell, Minn., and Gary (Rhonda) of Austin; a daughter, Janelle Gabrielson of Austin; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Jenny) Gabrielson, Matthew (Korina) Gabrielson, Amanda (Justin) Draeger, Melanie, Carissa, Brittney and Chelsea Gabrielson; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Logan Gabrielson; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Storry of Woodbury, Minn.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Ernest and Mabel (Montgomery) Storry; and a brother, Lyle Storry.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
The family prefers memorials.
