Marie C. (Passer) Monson — Austin
AUSTIN — The funeral for Marie C. (Passer) Monson will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Glenn L. Monson officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Marie Monson, 94, of Austin, died Friday (Feb. 6, 2009) at the Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea.
Marie Clara Passer was born Oct. 21, 1914, in rural Wells, Minn. In 1935, she married Earl Monson. They farmed in the Emmons and Albert Lea area before moving to Austin in 1951.
Mrs. Monson lived in the same house from January 1951 until May 2008, when she moved to Good Samaritan. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (George) Ziebell of Glenville, Minn., and Marlene Monson of Roseville, Minn.; two sons, Duane (Rosemary) of Rochester and Michael (Sheryl) of Austin; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carma Buendorf of Blue Earth, Minn., and Arline Monson of Albert Lea; many nieces and nephews, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; her parents, Silas and Irene (Payne) Passer; and three sisters, Margaret (Adrian) Kauffmann, Adeline (Alvin) Werner and Betty (Ray) Werner.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church building project.
