AUSTIN — The funeral for Paul R. Ebert was at 11 a.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin; the Rev. Mike Olmsted officiated. Interment was in Blooming Prairie Cemetery; American Legion Post 91 provided military honors.

Paul Robert Ebert, 80, of rural Austin, died Friday (Nov. 14, 2008) at his home.

Born May 4, 1928, in Lac Qui Parle County, Minn., he moved to Newry Township, Freeborn County, Minn., in 1934, where he attended country school. He was drafted during the Korean War, returned to Minnesota following his discharge, and worked as a carpenter on the railroad for many years. A member of the VFW, he enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include a sister, Mildred Peterson of rural Austin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ella (Haase) Ebert; three brothers, Leslie, Lloyd and John; and two sisters, Marie and Dorothy.

Memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Worlein Funeral Home of Austin was in charge of arrangements.
