Shirley Mae Kinny — Austin
AUSTIN — The funeral Mass for Shirley Mae Kinny was at 10 a.m. today in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Austin. The Rev. Joe Fogal officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
Miss Kinny, 81, a resident of St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin, died Tuesday (Feb. 13, 2007) at the Austin Medical Center.
Born March 8, 1925, in Milford, Iowa, she moved with her family to the Austin area in 1928.
She attended school in Austin, graduating from high school in 1944. She continued her education for one more year.

Miss Kinny worked for 23 years at Queen of Angels Church in Austin as a housekeeper, beginning in 1947. In 1972, she began working as a matron at Austin Vocational School. She also did some housecleaning for numerous people in the Austin area during her career. She retired in 1990.
Miss Kinny enjoyed playing cards and bingo, as well as eating out.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary (Tom) Mlenar and Bernitta Gilpin, both of St. Paul, and Bonnie (John) Funk of St. Joseph, Mo.; and three brothers, Delbert (Karen) Kinny of Austin, David (Mary) Kinney of Faribault and Harold (Judy) Kinney of Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Mayer Funeral Home of Austin was in charge of arrangements.
