Ursula Agatha Callahan — Austin
AUSTIN — The funeral for Ursula Agatha Callahan of Austin will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Callahan, 95, died Thursday (April 23, 2009) at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1913, in Currie, Minn., to Fred and Mathilda (LaValley) DeMarce. She married John Harold Callahan on May 9, 1971.
Mrs. Callahan was a homemaker, and was instrumental in starting Austin’s Hot Meals on Wheels program. She logged 12,000 hours of volunteer service with the St. Olaf Auxiliary, retiring at age 92.

She is survived by three sons, Brian (Dorothy) of Prior Lake, Minn., Chris (Eileen) of Mantorville, and Kevin of Rochester; two daughters, Sheila (Steve) Dressen of New Prague, Minn., and Kathleen (Tim) Eppley of Charles City, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; a daughter, Mary; two great-granddaughters, Sophie and Isabelle Ross; five brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home, and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. The Rosary will be said at 4 p.m., and there will be a wake service at 6:30 p.m., both Tuesday at the funeral home.
