Oeltjen, Reeves pace Tigers

Tami Oeltjen and Katie Reeves of Stewartville got two hits each in a 7-6 win Friday over Kasson-Mantorville in a softball game played in Kasson.

Stewartville's Nicole Bro scored the winning run on an error in the top of the seventh inning. The Tigers took advantage of two walks and two errors to gain the lead.

Then, in the bottom of the seventh, K-M's Meghan Dorschner reached second on an error but was thrown out trying to reach third when Tigers pitcher Liz Gehrking field a ground ball and threw to Danielle Mullenbach for the putout.

"We had our chances but gave it away in the last inning," said K-M coach Duane Burton.

Gehrking struck out eight, walked none and gave up eight hits in a complete game win. Kara Sinn backed her with a double.

Dorschner got two hits in the game, including a two-run inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning. The KoMets' Brooke Pearson added a double.

THREE RIVERS CONFERENCE

St. Charles 1, Plainview 0

Alissa Christianson drove in Jenny Thisius with the winning run in the top of the sixth inning in Plainview. Winning pitcher was Audrey Decker, who allowed five hits in seven innings. Raegan Irish was the losing pitcher. She entered for Melissa Decker in the sixth. Irish finished 2-for-2 at the plate. Teammate Becky Huckleberry was 2-3.
