Actor Ethan Hawke will be offstage, not on, when "Things We Want" has its world premiere Nov. 7 at the Acorn Theatre.
Jonathan Marc Sherman’s play, produced by the New Group, will be Hawke’s off-Broadway directorial debut. It concerns three brothers who come back to live in their childhood home and what happens when they meet a sexy young neighbor. The cast includes Paul Dano, Peter Dinklage, Josh Hamilton and Zoe Kazan. Preview performances begin Oct. 22. The limited engagement will run through Dec. 15.
Hawke recently appeared on stage in New York in Tom Stoppard’s "The Coast of Utopia." His theater credits include the New Group revival of "Hurlyburly," as well as "Henry IV" for Lincoln Center Theater.
