Offender allegedly failed to register

Bail conditions have been modified for a man accused of failing to register as a predatory offender.

Olmsted District Judge Robert Birnbaum granted a defense motion Thursday to set conditional bail at $5,000 for Desmond Lamont Reeder, 30, no address. Reeder has been held in the Olmsted County jail in lieu of being able to post $20,000 unconditional bail. Reeder waived an evidentiary hearing. A settlement conference will be scheduled.

He is charged with one count of failure to register as a predatory offender, as required by law of certain convicted offenders. He was convicted of robbery in 2001 in Hennepin County. Originally, he was charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of robbery.
