One man shot in Northwest Rochester Friday night

The victim and suspect, believed to be father and son, respectively, were reportedly having an argument before the assailant shot the victim in the leg. The victim was taken to Saint Marys Hospital.

Rochester police were called to a shooting at Essex Park Apartments on 937 41st St. NW at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

Rochester Police Lt. James Evenson said police believe that the victim, a man about 50 years old, was shot in the leg after having an argument with the suspect, who's believed to be the victim's 18-year-old son.

The victim was taken by Mayo Clinic ambulance to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys.

The suspect at this time is still at large, but Evenson said he believes there is no threat to the greater public.
