Otto J. Schultz -- Canton

CANTON -- The funeral for Otto J. Schultz will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henrytown Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Schultz, 85, of rural Canton, a retired farmer, died Sunday (April 21, 2002) at Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

He was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Preston and attended Preston schools. On Oct. 26, 1940, he married Leone Soland in Decorah, Iowa. They farmed in Amherst Township, Fillmore County, for many years. Mr. Schultz served on the Henrytown Lutheran Church Board and Canton School Board and was an Amherst Township officer.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Sonja (Richard) Erickson and Carol (Franklin) Hahn, both of Houston, Lois (Orville) Matzke of Stewartville, Nina (Kenton) Yunker of Lewistown, Mont., Alice (Stephen) Knox of Kasson and Gloria (Timothy) Liebenow of Elgin; two sons, Norman (Diane) of Stewartville and Gary (Patricia) of Canton; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard of Henrytown, Philip of Remer, Minn., and Kenneth of Wykoff; and four sisters, Pauline Hanson and Margaret Hemker, both of Preston, Leona Grisham of Pasadena, Texas, and Bernice Halverson of Ridgeway, Iowa. Two sons, six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
