GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) — The mayor of a Massachusetts town says families and school staff have no information to back a claim that girls made pacts to have babies.
Gloucester (GLAW’-stur) Mayor Carolyn Kirk plans to meet Monday with school and health officials over Principal Joseph Sullivan’s comments to Time magazine.
The comments came after 17 girls in Gloucester High School became pregnant this year. That’s four times the usual number.

Kirk says Sullivan has told city officials he can’t remember his source of information.
The Associated Press could not immediately locate a phone number to get Sullivan’s reaction.
