Competing for the first time this season on their home track gave the Austin boys plenty of incentive to make a fine showing in Tuesday's triangular meet.
Austin finished first with 87 points, Mankato West was second with 65, and Albert Lea finished third with 31 team points in the meet held at the Larry Gilbertson Track.
"The kids were happy to be at home and it was a nice night for a track meet," Austin coach Tony Einertson said. "All four of our relays finished first and posted impressive times. The 4 x 800 relay team started out with a tremendous time, one of the best in the state this year, and then Will Darling stole the show."
