Mike Wolfe has been named as the new boys hockey coach for the Austin Packers.
Wolfe is a 1980 graduate of Austin High School, so he knows the Packers program well. He played three years for the Packers during his high school career on the ice.
The new coach has a young family and runs his own business in the Twin Cities metro area. Wolfe has been out of coaching for the past couple of years, but from 2000-2004, he coached Bantam A hockey in Apple Valley.
Wolfe took over practice duties on Thursday and the Packers open the season on the road next Friday.
