Only the span of 30 minutes separated the recording of a pair of holes-in-one on Sunday at the Cedar River Country Club in Adams.

Two members of the Cedar River Golf Course fired the rare shots on the same day about a half-hour apart. Adam Nelson of Rose Creek and Craig Knight from LeRoy each shot holes-in-one over this past weekend.

Nelson holed the par 3, 13th hole at the CRCC. He used a nine-iron to ace the 110-yard hole. Nelson’s ace was witnessed by his father, Bryce Nelson.

Knight holed out the par 3, eighth hole. He used a nine-iron to find the cup from the tee on the 155-yard hole. Alison Retterath, Kallie Osmundson and Russ Foster witnessed Knight’s hole-in-one.

While Nelson was playing a round of open golf with his dad, Knight was playing in the Couples 4-Person Best Shot Tournament.

These are the fourth and fifth aces reported for the 2009 season at Cedar River Golf Course on the summer.

• Bob Nihart of Austin recorded a hole-in-one on Friday at the Meadow Green Golf Course in Austin. Nihart notched his ace on the 12th hole.
