Parade calls for support of the environment

MINNEAPOLIS-- This year's annual MayDay Parade by In the Heart of the Beast puppet and mask theater will be a call to action.

"LEAP! Into the Wondrous Possible" is the theme of this year's parade, which features more than 2,000 participants led by 30 puppet artists. It calls for support of a better environment for all creatures.

The parade will be at 2 p.m. May 2 on Bloomington Avenue between 26th and 34th streets in Minneapolis. It is part of the MayDay Festival, which will also feature a Tree of Life Ceremony and a festival of music in Powderhorn Park, 3400 15th Ave. S. in Minneapolis, after the parade.
