Gov. Tim Pawlenty will speak during the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Member Celebration next week.
Pawlenty is expected to talk about the city's effect on Minnesota. Also at the celebration on Oct. 9, the chamber will present four annual awards: Volunteer of the Year Award, Athena Award, Small Business of the Year Award and the new Lamp of Knowledge Award.
Sue DiGrazia, the chamber's assistant to the president, said the new award is given to a chamber member who supports continuing education and advocates for higher education. The award is sponsored by the chamber and Greater Rochester Area University Center.
