Peter P. Jones — Rochester

ROCHESTER — A memorial service for Peter P. Jones will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Macken Colonial Chapel in Rochester. The Rev. Lester Horntvedt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson.

Mr. Jones, 67, of Hayward, Wis., formerly of Rochester, died Monday (Oct. 22, 2007) at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital, of heart failure.

Peter Paul Jones was born March 1, 1940, in Rochester. In 1962, he joined the cement finishers union and worked for O.A. Stocke Construction. He began working for Mortonson in 1978 as a cement finisher foreman. He worked there 28 years, retiring in 2006. On Sept. 12, 1958, he married Patricia Glasenapp; she preceded him in death on July 24, 1976. He married Cleo Bee on Nov. 7, 1977; she survives. Mr. Jones had resided in Hayward for a year-and-a-half. Prior to that, he lived in Rochester, and then Delafield, Wis., for nine years. He was a gifted guitar player.

He is survived by his second wife; three daughters, Bridget (John) Graebling of Virginia Beach, Va., Brenda (Alan) Louis of La Crosse, Wis., and Anita (Don) Roseboom of Rochester; two stepdaughters, Vicki Profeta of Orlando, Fla., and Cheryl (Jack) Olive of San Diego; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas of Rochester. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Macken Funeral Home.
